Flexibilis announced its architecture for sensor networking summer 2008.
The architecture provides auto-configurability, encryption and authentication at both link and network layers, multi-Gigabit data transfer capability and clock synchronization at nanosecond range.
The solution includes separate products to be used as network nodes specialized for packet forwarding, feeding clock information to the network and interfacing to sensors and other data sources.
The time synchronization based on IEEE standard 1588 allows the network to transfer time with nanosecond range accuracy.
This kind of accuracy can be used for synchronizing passive radar systems and other sensors and to replace and complement atomic clocks and GPS based synchronization solutions.
Flexibilis architecture is IP based and employs standard technologies enabling compatibility with third party devices now and in the future.
It also integrates into legacy telephone systems making it possible to bridge delta-modulated TDM voice over IP networks and to forward calls to/from VoIP systems.
